今回の概要

今日のテーマは「愛を語る数学」です皆さんご承知のとおり数学者というのは非常に素晴らしい愛の探究者ですでもそれは私たちが肉食系で卓越した話術を誇り最高の筆箱を携えているだけでなく実際に非常に多くの研究を行い完ぺきなパートナーを見つける方法を計算してきたからです

この研究の中で私のお気に入りの論文は「なぜ僕には彼女がいないか」です（笑）ピーター・バッカスは理想の恋人と出会える確率を計算しますピーターはさほど高望みはしていませんイギリスにいるフリーな女性のうちピーターが探しているのは近くに住んでいて彼に見合う年齢で大卒でピーターと馬が合い魅力的でピーターを魅力的と思ってくれる人です（笑）はじき出された数字はイギリス全体で26人というものですはじき出された数字はイギリス全体で26人というものですあんまりですよねピーターこれがどれくらいの数字かというと最も確かな予測で存在するとされる― 地球外生命体の数の 400分の１ですさらにピーターが一晩遊びに繰り出してこの特別な女性に出会うチャンスは 28万５千分の１ですこれが理由で数学者はわざわざ夜遊びなんてしないんでしょうね

とても素晴らしいプレゼンテーション動画です。数学で理想の相手と出会う確率を真面目に計算したお話です
