伊藤穰一は問いかけます。「インターネット以前の時代を覚えていますか？人々がまだ未来を予測しようとしていた時代を？」MITメディアラボ所長である彼がこの魅力的な講演で提案するのは、未来を予測しようとする代わりにその場で創造する新しいアプローチです。すなわち短期間で作り、絶えず改良し、誰の許可も求めず、アイデアが正しいか前もって検証しないアプローチです。このようなボトムアップのイノベーションは、現在あらわれつつある非常に面白い未来的なプロジェクトの中に見受けられます。イノベーションは、今身の回りで起きていることに心を開き注意を払うことから始まるのです。彼はこう主張します。フューチャリストであってはいけない、「ナウイスト」になるべきなのだと。。
